Forget unexpected red - we love surprise pink!

My eldest is currently running around California this week and she's been sending some great images of palm trees and down town street. It looks like another world. And, my need for sunlight, any light, has been on high alert! And I know I'm not the only one.
The British artist, David Hockney, talked at length about his first time in California and his delight that colours appeared flat as there were no long shadows. He was from Bradford and, along with a plethora of beautiful boys (his words not mine), there was light. He was delirious and, not by chance, often wore pink.
Let me drag you back you the UK for a moment and to remind you that Spring is springing, the daffodils are blooming and our homes and wardrobes are in need of some colour. I am almost sure leopard print is a neutral and a pale pink can be effortlessly added anywhere and goes with everything!
For instant satisfaction throw some pink blooms into a vase and bathe in their power over your morning coffee.

The palest of pinks will do and here we see it shine with a straw hat and boots. It doesn't have to be dainty or floaty. Linen frocks have a way of diffusing colours like no other fabric.
