The Paris Fantasy: A Lesson in Wardrobe Liberation

If I was asked to go to Paris for the weekend, I’m actually quite ready to go. I have the trench coat, a classic white t-shirt, a black cashmere cardigan, and a very agreeable Jaeger long cashmere coat in camel. But, I would be at a loss as to what to wear on my feet.
Fast forward and picture me on my hands and knees, headfirst in my wardrobe, dragging out my very old loafers. They still look great, despite the fact they are years old. I can hear you exclaim, "But, Jill, why did you leave them in the back of your cupboard for so long?" Well, I can only quote the saying, "out of sight, out of mind."
But, I am re-discovering my loafers now and I've decided they are quite fabulous. It took me a minute, but once liberated from the wardrobe, I popped them on. Did I still like them? Did I ever! In my search for both good-looking and comfortable shoes, I realised this loafer thing was a hidden vein yet untapped.
I instantly put together an outfit for my, in reality, fictitious trip to Paris. I was too far in, committed; I had now convinced myself I really was going! I settled on a look I’d totally wear for a day's shopping at the vintage markets. The seal is now broken on this fantasy trip, but my love for this outfit is lingering. It will be a staple over the spring.
My Outfit Details:
Loafers: M&S
